Odds and ends from January / February

The major excitement of the winter was that Dylan started walking.  I think I already made a post about that though, so here are a few pics of the first few weeks of walking.  Now he only has one speed - running, so it's nice to look back on the days when walking across the room was a big accomplishment.

Play date with my teacher friends' daughters, Evie and Sophia. This was the best we could do to get 3 toddlers to sit still for a picture.

Lots of hugs and kisses! I think this was right around the time he started hugging and kissing upon request. For awhile he didn't understand that you should close your mouth when you kiss, so mostly it was just like he was eating your face. These days he always says "mmmmmm" when he hugs you and pats you on the back...probably because that's what we always say to him when we squeeze him! Hey, we'll take it!  Hugs and kisses never get old!

Catching up

Well, it's July 29 and I haven't updated this since January 1st....omg overwhelmed! So, my goal for the summer was to get caught up on the past 6 months. I now have 2 weeks left before school starts again...ahh! Lots has happened since January, so I'm going to rely on my pictures to jog my memory.

Here we go....
This picture summarizes our winter, sick, sick, and more sick! We were definitely frequent flyers at the doctor's office this winter.Seriously, like every 10 days.  Dylan was one ear infection away from having to get tubes in his ears.  Luckily we didn't end up having to do that.

Sick little guy

Getting better..loves his truck ramp from Aunt Krista and Uncle Michael

Hanging out with Scarlett

Taking turns...this is before he learned the word "mine"

Sick again

Sick, sick, and more sick. This pretty much sums up January and February. Blah!

These feet were made for walking!

FINALLY!!  We've got a walker!  Only a few steps, but I'm counting it!! So happy it happened while I was home to see it.  First official steps on December 31, 2012.   And so it begins...

Let it snow!

Well, Dylan got his snow gear just in time for the first snow of the season!  We didn't get a lot, but enough to cover the grass and head out for a sled ride in the back yard.  Getting a toddler ready to play in the snow is no joke! It took 15 mintues and a tantrum to get the snowpants, boots, gloves and hat on.  Once he got outside on the sled, he was much happier. He loved riding around on the sled in the yard. Unfortunately, the fun only lasted about 10 minutes and then Dylan was ready to go back inside to warm up.  Oh well, we tried!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day was so much fun this year!  Dylan loved seeing his new toys from Santa, and immediately started playing with them.  Santa brought Dylan a new play table and chairs shaped like animals, musical instruments, a block set, a firetruck, a new ball, and some bath toys.

After a relaxing Christmas morning, we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Bolhafner's to spend the afternoon with them.  Dylan was once again spoiled with tons of gifts!  The highlights were the A-Z puppets, snow gear, and a mini basketball hoop for our patio!  Tim and Shelby restocked Dylan's pajama wardrobe, and found a special Elf from the North Pole who will come live at our house next year at Christmas time ;)

We seriously need a new house for all of Dylan's new toys! He is definitely loved by many!

Christmas Eve

We did things a little differently for Christmas this year.  Instead of having everyone at our house Christmas Eve, and then seeing both families on Christmas day, we spent the 24th with the Pincus' and the 25th with the Bolhafner's.  It made for a much more relaxing holiday, and we felt like we got to spend a good amount of time with both families.

On Christmas Eve, we did Italian Christmas dinner complete with lasagna, chicken and eggplant parm.  Yum!

Dylan was spoiled with gifts, of course! He loves his shopping cart and his cozy coupe car from Grandma and Grandpa Pincus.  We have been doing laps around the house in the car since it's too cold to take it outside.  Brian gave him his first drum set (thanks for the headaches to come Brian), and Julie and Daniel gave him some fun books!  He's one lucky little guy!
