We did things a little differently for Christmas this year. Instead of having everyone at our house Christmas Eve, and then seeing both families on Christmas day, we spent the 24th with the Pincus' and the 25th with the Bolhafner's. It made for a much more relaxing holiday, and we felt like we got to spend a good amount of time with both families.
On Christmas Eve, we did Italian Christmas dinner complete with lasagna, chicken and eggplant parm. Yum!
Dylan was spoiled with gifts, of course! He loves his shopping cart and his cozy coupe car from Grandma and Grandpa Pincus. We have been doing laps around the house in the car since it's too cold to take it outside. Brian gave him his first drum set (thanks for the headaches to come Brian), and Julie and Daniel gave him some fun books! He's one lucky little guy!

Dylan's 15 seconds of fame
Dylan made the news! Well, just a shout out from the morning anchor who happened to be at the Mizzou / Illinois basketball watch party we were at ast night. Such a star!
Pre-Christmas pics
Dylan is having fun with the Christmas tree this year. After wiring it to the wall and taking off all of the breakable ornaments, it's pretty kid friendly! He likes to take the ornaments off and try to put them back on. He also loves reading his "Night before Christmas" book, and says Ho Ho Ho when you ask him what Santa says. So cute! Can I leave the tree up all year round?!
Thing 1 / Thing 2
Connor and Dylan have matching Christmas pj's, so of course we had to have a photo shoot! Trying to get them both to sit still and smile is nearly impossible!
Being a model proved to be quite exhausting for Dylan. He passed out on the floor immediately after the photo shoot.

Wild Lights at the Zoo
More Christmas fun this weekend! We went with Lisa, Jason, and Connor to see the Wild Lights at the Zoo. It was awesome weather, the boys didn't even need coats. Kinda liking this global warming thing! We went right when it started, good thing, because by the time we left it was PACKED! The animals weren't out, except the penguins, which we went and saw. Dylan said "Duck duck" when he saw them - guess they do kind of look like ducks.
Here are a few pics of the best buds.

Christmas trains
This weekend we went to the Botanical Gardens for the Christmas train exhibit (thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the great suggestion!). It was beautiful and Dylan loved seeing all of the model trains. It's funny because Dylan has never really noticed the permanent train exhibit we have in our backyard, but today he was looking out the kitchen window and a train went by and he watched it so intently! Who needs model trains when you've got the real thing! Choo choo!!

MMMMMMMM!
Dylan loves to eat - I mean LOVES to eat! Eating with him is probably the funniest part of our day, he gets so excited! He waves his arms and legs like crazy and says MMMMMMMM and squeals with delight. The video below is from Wasabi sushi restaurant, where Dylan ate an entire appetizer worth of Terriyaki chicken and a bowl of miso soup. At the end of the meal, people came over to our table to tell us how much they enjoyed watching him eat, haha. Guess it's better than the alternative!
Some of Dylan's fav foods these days:
Salmon (#1)
chicken
cheese
eggs
turkey
ham
banana
yogurt
beef
lasagna
pretty much anything we eat!
HI and LIGHT
HI and LIGHT ....we hear these words all day long! Dylan will say hi to everyone in the room about 50 times and then will point out every light to you. So for a special treat, we went to the light section at Home Depot (we were definitely already there for other things). You would have thought Dylan was in Disneyland, he was SO excited. "Light, light, light...." He's a chatterbox but most of what he says we can't understand yet. But we know hi and light quite well :)
