GO CARDS!

Cards vs. Cubs home opening weekend! Despite the nasty weather, we decided to brave taking Dylan to his first game.  The rain had cleared at our house so we headed to the stadium in time to make it for the World Series ring ceremony.  As soon as we got down there it started pouring and we had to wait through a 2 hr rain delay.  Dylan did great at the bar, waited patiently and amused the other fans.  Took a nice nap and woke up as it started clearing up.  The sun came out, it went from 60 to 80 degrees in about 20 minutes and the game started.  Dylan liked it for about 10 minutes, then decided he was done.  We made it through the second inning, then came home.  Oh well, we tried - and got some fun pics!

6 months

This month brought lots of "firsts" for Dylan!  At the beginning of the month we moved him from his small bassinet bed to his crib.  This was not fun, and took a few days to get the sleep schedule back on track.  I think he's got the hang of it now though! Speaking of sleeping, he also had his first vacation with Grandmas and Grandpas while Mike and I went on Mike's work trip to Arizona.  He did great with them, and they loved having him! We're so lucky to have awesome parents who will babysit whenever we ask :)

Another first was that we moved from the infant bath tub to the duck tub, which is a transition to the big bathtub.  He likes to splash around in the duck tub, and especially likes the bubbles!

Dylan started sitting up and eating real food this month, pictures of these events are on another post.

He is also "standing" a lot more now.  He can stand pretty well as long as he's supported.

We haven't been to the doctor yet, but Dylan weighs about 16.5 pounds.  He is wearing 6 month size clothes and size 2 diapers.

1st real foods

April 1st was the day.  Avocado was the food.  The first real food.  We decided to skip baby rice cereal, since it doesn't have and real nutritional value, and moved straight to veggies.  I got a fancy baby food maker and am going to attempt to make all of Dylan's baby food.  So far it has been super easy! This month we introduced avocado, zucchini, and butternut squash.  I think he likes the zucchini the best.  It's really watery and easy for him to eat.  Little guy likes his food though!

Sitting Up

Towards the end of March Dylan started sitting up on his own.  He's still a little wobbly, and can only sit up for a few minutes, but he's learning!  He also found his feet around this time, so sometimes he gets distracted by his delicious toes and falls forward so he can eat them.
