Dad

Dylan has the best Dad in the world!  Mike works so hard to make sure that our family has all we need. After long days at work, he always makes time to hang out with Dylan before he goes to bed. He cooks, cleans, and changes dirty diapers- what more could we ask for?!  This weekend we are celebrating Mike's first Father's Day with a family BBQ at our house.  Everyone's coming over so it should be a great night of family fun celebrating all of the Dads and Grandpas in our family!!

To our Dads and Grandpas - We love you more than you could ever know!! Happy Father's Day!

8 months

It seems like Dylan is changing so much these days!  Almost everyday he is doing something new, which is so fun to watch.  I'm so happy to be home for the summer at this point in his life so that I don't miss out on his new skills.  As for the new skills, he is talking like crazy lots of ma's, da's, ba's, ga's, and ya's.  He rolls around a lot as a means of transportation to get where he wants, and is so close to crawling, but doesn't quite have the hang of that.  He wants to feed himself his bottles, and is learning to drink from a sippy cup (not sure how much he actually gets in his mouth!).  The boy loves his food - we've yet to find a food he doesn't like.  New additions are edamame, blueberries, bananas, nectarines, carrots, green beans - I think that's it.   I was drinking a homemade berry smoothie yesterday and he was very intrigued so I gave him some.  He LOVED it!  So I guess we can add pomegranate, raspberries, and strawberries, and lemons to the food list too.

Even with all of the extra new food, he hasn't been gaining any weight (must be nice!) and is holding steady at about 17.5 pounds.  The doctor said it's normal and they just hang out around the same weight for awhile at this point.  So we'll just keep doing what we're doing!

No teeth yet, but they are coming soon.  Our sweet baby who has slept through the night since 3 months has started waking up at least once a night.  We are not used to this!!!  I don't like teething at all! I wish he could just get them all at once and have a really bad few weeks and then be done with it, haha.

Bit the bullet and signed Dylan up for daycare in August.  I think we need to win the lottery to pay for it!  He is going to go to a Montesorri school by my work.  We really like it, and are excited for Dylan to have interaction with other babies at least a few days a week.

I think that's it - here's some pics from this month.

1st Mother's Day!
