OMG I can't believe I'm writing extensively about pooping. I mean really, is this what 30 yr olds get excited about? (ok, 31..soon to be 32, ugh) I guess so -here goes.
Dylan pooped on his potty this week (Aug 6)! He woke up from his nap saying "oh poop, oh poop" so I said "do you want to go on the potty?" - Dylan- "yeeeessss"
At first he only sat there for a few seconds and got up. Then I got smart and put Elmo to good use. Gave him the ipad and he was good to go. Then he started crying and pushing so hard his little legs were shaking (apologies in advance teenage Dylan). Then the biggest man poop came out! Like really big! So the first potty was a massive success!
Seriously, I just wrote that??? Whatever, it's a major milestone, right?

Things I hate right now
#1 the pacifier - we cannot manage to get rid of that stupid thing. It works like a charm, and D would use it all day long if we let him. He pretty much only uses it at nap and bed and when he's sick or teething. If I could give advice to any new parent, it would be to take that damn pacifier away at 6 months before they know it's even there. Dylan loves his "Paci" . Mom does not.
#2 Elmo - Dylan is obsessed with all things Elmo and Sesame Street. He wants to watch it ALL the time. He goes into a trance when he watches it, it's pretty funny. He knows all of the characters' names, and calls out for them often (like whenever he sees a tv). I don't mind Sesame Street, just wish he wasn't so addicted to it!
That's it. Oh, and going back to school on Monday.

Chatterbox
Jumping out of order a little bit on my catch up game. Dylan has been talking so much lately that I want to get all of his funny words down so that we can torment him when he is older. We love listening to him talk and learn new words. I'll be kinda sad when he can talk like an adult and all of the silly words are gone. Here are a few of our favorites from the summer.
#1 family favorite - "moop" = milk LOVE IT!
#2 "babies" = raisins or any small fruit. Mike took D to the store and they saw some key limes. D loves limes and knows the word lime so he was saying lime, lime, lime. Mike explained that key limes are like baby limes. So now, all small fruits are "babies". Last night we had to get up at 1am and "eat babies". Not creepy at all Dylan, not creepy at all.
#3 bee - all insects and bugs are bees
#4 - Mow = meow = cat
#5 - cock = a hybrid of car and truck. This is especially awesome since he points out every "cock" we see all day long.
#6 - Din Din = Dylan He can answer the question "who are you" now.
#7 helpful = helpful. This is the best word i've taught him! He loves to be helpful and put his dishes in the sink and help load/unload the dishwasher. Lately he's been a little too helpful and we think he threw away mike's keys.
#8 - ah-peen = airplane Lately he wants to make everything an "airplane" which means he throws whatever object is in his hand in the air to make it fly. I've been hit in the head with railroad tracks, dump trucks, books, food, drinks, you name it! Not a fan of "ah-peens" right now.
#9 - yellow - every time you ask Dylan what color an object is, he says yellow. So to make him look smarter, we stick to bananas, the sun, baby chicks, and taxis ;)
I'll probably think of more later.
Other speech related things. He can sing some of the songs on the radio. Especially likes Selena Gomez " If you want it come and get it" He's really good at the nah, nah, nah part. Along with singing, he is a dancing fool! He loves to dance! Here's a video of him dancing to some Elmo song.

He is also learning how to put more than one word together. We hear lots of "all done, oh no, more (whatever), bye bye ____"
We love hearing his silly little voice (usually). He's becoming such a little person! He's super outgoing, and is almost always talking to whoever will listen (got that from dad!). We love our little chatterbox!
